Rapheal’s fifth solo exhibition with Pencil on Paper Gallery in Dallas, Texas, was an immersive and intimate experience. For this exhibition, Rapheal invited viewers, collectors, and longtime followers into a setting that was more personal than his previous gallery environments.

Transforming the gallery into a recreation of his childhood home, Rapheal created an experience centered around five of the home’s major gathering spaces: the Kitchen, Garage, Dining Room, Bedroom, and Living Room. Each room was represented through a large-scale painting, accompanied by smaller vignettes of imagery that complemented and expanded upon the story of each space.

A central theme throughout the exhibition was Rapheal’s grandmother’s pathos plant, which was given to his father following her passing. The plant has continued to thrive and grow for more than thirty years, becoming a living symbol of family, memory, and generational connection.

Extending this theme of legacy beyond the gallery walls, Rapheal shared propagations of the plant with the community. During opening night, the first 100 exhibition attendees received a propagation of the plant—a living piece of the exhibition and a tangible connection to the story at the heart of the work.
